Objectives:
- Enhance each player's pitching skills.
- Increase pitch velocity.
- Refine pitch command.
- Develop of off-speed pitches.
- Teach dynamically balanced pitching mechanics.
- Develop a strong, healthy throwing arm.
Areas of Instruction:
- Each player will participate in pitching drills to establish and refine their pitching mechanics.
- Live throwing is used to develop arm strength and pitch command.
- Pitcher's fielding practice.
- Classroom instruction to communicate strategies for getting hitters out.
- For older pitchers, medicine balls, bungee cords, and heavy balls are used to develop a strong, healthy arm while reinforcing proper throwing mechanics.
